ENSAI and CREST
ENSAI, the French graduate-level engineering school specialized in Statistics, Data Science and Economics, is currently inviting applications for a new position in Machine Learning. ENSAI is interested in candidates with a Ph.D. in Computer Science (or related fields), specialized in Machine Learning. The position is open to any level; priority will be given to candidates with several years of experience after the PhD. Applicants will have a demonstrated ability to teach courses in Computer Science, related in particular to Statistics, for the engineers, and to supervise projects. At the associate/full professor level will have an outstanding research record and will be able to supervise PhD students, or, at the assistant level, will show the ability to achieve these qualifications. A propensity to interact and to build collaborations with researchers from Statistics or Economics at Ensai would be highly appreciated. An active participation in the «Centre de Recherche en Economie et Statistique » (CREST – www.crest.fr) research lab is expected.
The appointment can begin as soon as September, 2017. Tenure can be granted at the time of the appointment or shortly after, according to qualifications. Assistant professors will normally receive a contract for three years renewable for another three years before the tenure evaluation. Salary is very competitive according to qualifications. At the appointment fluency in French is not required for teaching; however it is expected that the appointee will make an effort to acquire a workable knowledge of French, and to be able to teach in French, in a reasonable time. The school offers resources to learn French.
